I was taking my usual stroll through the park by my house. It borders a small State wildlife area. I came across the following. I've seen Blue Heron around here the last couple of years but never have I come across a white one in Northeast Ohio.

I believe this is a White Heron. If not let me know.

I think they are called Great Egrets. Same with the Snowy Egrets and the Little Blue Heron the white ones get a different name.

Thanks Josh.

I just googled Great Engrot and it does look like the same bird. I caught him at two different times that day but unfortunately both times the sun was behind him. I wish I could have caught him in better light. He was a beautiful bird. I hope to see him again!

Bill

The ones around here don't give you much time before they take off.
