Anyways id wonder if the events in Japan have effected the shipment of lenses manufactured in 2011...

Besides, its not like it really matters...does it? ;)

I did, a month ago. I believe starting 2011, Canon doesn't put the code on its lens.
I got the 2010 code (I believe it's UY?).

Yeah, but they still had 2.33 months before the quake strike, and I've read some people got UZ coded 24-105mm.

I have had my 135L for a week now and it is a UY date code.

At least on some of the new lenses date code is gone and all you have is a longer serial #.


I know more about gear than I know about photography :p
