I took this shot of my little princess and it wasn't until later that day I realised it was her 18 month "birthday" :D

It has become my favorite shot of her, but if anyone can see how I can improve it, please feel free. Is it a little sharp in places? or is it just me? Shot with the nifty 50

Edit: seems to look a little softer now it's on flickr..???

Great expression and nice even lighting. Also clean background. I would boost up the exposure slightly. Sorta like this (based on histogram and calibrated monitor).

Actually I didn't even know it was a little dark until you posted your edit, much better, esp in here eyes but it must be my monitor as the skin looks a little blown in the forehead now. Given your monitor is calibrated I'm going with mine being set a little on the bright side.

I backed the brightness down on my screen this morning and it looks much nicer. Thanks again for the calibrated edit.
