That sea monster looks cool, I saw one of these http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beriev_A-40 (external link) at Woodford back in 1993, that was as strange looking beast too. Got photos somewhere

For something unusual Ian what you really want is a CASPIAN SEA MONSTER (external link) google it for more info.

Yes, a monster for sure! Fairly sure they were 'introduced' on the programme Tomorrows World and there was debate as to whether the "west" had their own development of craft using this ground effect method of lift ~ all to avoid radar!!! I thought latterly there have been some small light commercial Ekranoplan's???

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

? for all you HDR Fanatics, when you are shooting like 11 shots for HDR, what ev apart, and how do you actually do it knowing that most cameras can only bracket like 7 at most (guessing there).

TBH we could do with a paged link to all of us who are on 500px so it is easier to add us all in one go if you know what I mean, I know I have missed people, though should stick it in the potn info :)

Evening all,

Being the Summer Solstice thought i'd try my luck at another sunset over a Poppy Field. Unfortunately clouds weren't going to let us get away with two great sunsets in a row. So, inspired by a competition i'm looking to enter I've just shot (and edited) this:

Just posted it on FlickR so if anyone wanted to comment on it would be most appreciated, fingers crossed for another explore item! :-)

Loving Polariser + Grad ND atm

Lovely lovely shot.

I guess I should answer this one :p

I don't use the AEB function (all canons except the 1D can only do 3 exposure AEBs)

I stick the camera in Av, and start at -5 and then go forward 1EV at a time. If the scene is too dark that it reaches the 30 second max before I get to +5EV, I switch to B and double the exposure time with each spot till I have the darkest of the shadows nicely exposed. This doesn't always equal 11 exposures, but usually somewhere in the region of 8+

Thanks I was guessing it was something like that :)
