EDIT: It has a screw in metal ring which the hood clips onto via some funky clip mechanism. I've seen third party ones that screw straight in.

Bargain! Yea, when I got mine the Amazon marketplace one was a lot cheaper than it is now. £18 for a bit of plastic is a bit excessive.

Never used one on mine and never had any flare even this wekend when shooting toward the sun with it.
