A last few shots from me for today ... I need to crash out as Farne is calling ...

This one is for Jonathan who asked for a picture of an arctic weasel ...

Ok ok ... so it's a Reindeer ... couldn't find anything like an arctic weasel!!

Some rather agressive behaviour from the sledding team. Once they get going, all focus is on the pulling of the sled, but before they go, they're noisy and agressive with each other. They calm down as soon as you go fuss them however - so they're not at all dangerous! The dogs they use on Svalbard are a cross between huskies and greenland dog ... so all shapes and sizes!

Not a weasel?? It's a lesser horned arctic weasel. A truly rare find - you were lucky to see it :)

Glad you liked the weasel ... Kristine and I got some funny looks when we kept calling them weasels!! It was the best I could do ;)

Morning all ... Farne is calling us to our mini POTN meet in Seahouses!! I'm sure we'll post a few pics when we can :)

Anyone up to anything photo-esque today?

Very odd and very rare - I did 't see any of these when I was there ;)

morning all. Nice huskies Clare..

Thank you - they really are softies - they only got aggressive with their "pulling partner" in anticipation of going .... So much noise as we prepared to leave, but as soon as he called them to go, it was like the mute button had been pressed!!
