Have 25, 5-6 year olds to keep an eye on this afternoon at my little ones birthday party !!

Sounds like ear defenders followed by Valium will be required

I'm off shortly to collect the new motor, but now that I have an envelope full of readies, why do used notes smell so good, I am wondering if I really want to spend it. What am I talking about of course I do I'm geting all excited about picking it up :D

Ooooooh! new motor, what are you getting? As for the used folding stuff.......I surmise it could be urban myth but it was said that any that has been in circulation for a few months has traces of narcotics on them??? :( Personally I prefer the feel & smell of the fresh ones :D Likely a throwback to the 10 bob note I used to get in my birthday card as a kid, that was always a nice crisp one.

That was a great meal ~ you must have a good set of pans :p

i just read about in the reading free papers. heres (external link) the website.

You might be interested in the decontamination facility thats going to be open this weekend at greenham common. im going to visit it tommrow if your interested. details here (external link).

Every time I visit customers at Greenham I drive past various older unconverted buildings from the origins of the site never any time to stop and have a wander round ~ would be interested to know if one the the list they mention is the single story one adjacent to the big EPC (English Provender Company) shed of a building was used for?

what is geocaching?

Layyz wrote in post #13079446 (external link)
its like treasure hunting but you follow your GPS and have to answer clues to find further GPS co-ordinates.. Usually theres a buried or hidden box with some goodies and visitors book that you sign.

Its very addictive. I did it a few years ago.

Yes, it is very addictive. But the best bit is it get me off my bum, and out in the beautiiful countryside. And you come accross places you wouldnt normally find.

Google it. :)

I hope you make more use of it than I do, joined about 18 months ago and only been back once!

Ah yes.

I've been a Premier Friend of Kew Gardens for over 10 years. When I was working in London, coming up for 5 years ago now, I would visit Kew over 6 times a year.

However I seem to be visiting less and less. It's not economically viable now.

I'm actually on a train to Kew Gardens now, for a visit.

And, whilst I'm there, hand in a letter ceasing membership and stopping my direct debit.

The irony is I could have paid for a Life membership by now.

i used to combine it with mountain biking too. We did some great geocaches around Calleva (roman town) near basingstoke a few years back. I do yearn to do some of the really remote ones in USA where u can discover some really old prospecting derilict towns and mine workings!

I'm up for this, about time I met some POTN people.

I seem to remember that last year the colours didn't appear until quite late.
Dug out my EOS1 and shot a roll of Ektar 100 for the hell of it and it's still sitting on my desk

Hi, welcome to the SE thread :)

Bout time you got that film developed then!

Er, Ok.

The leaves are just starting to drop from some of the trees.

The Rose garden, at the back of the Palm House, is still blooming.

The sun is currently out, and it's reasonably warm.

I don't know what else to say really.

I might do a few trips before my membership runs out at the end of October.

Oh Yes. Don't forget guys, it's London's Open House weekend next week.

Just cancelled my Kew Membership. The end of an era.

I only come a couple of times a year these days, unlike when I worked in London.

Oh well, after October I'll just have to pay £13 a visit like everyone else.

Where are you picking it up from Dom?

Maidstone, just got back drives like a dream very balanced more than I thought it would be, this was the first time I've driven one, only waiting for my insurance certificate so I can pop some tax on it and take it for a proper blast
