Congrats, you will find it a very good screen but for the record "out of the box" it is eye searingly bright and very much benefits from calibration to get the luminance down to in my case just under 100cd ~ important if you wnat what you see on the screen to print as close a match as possible.....sorry if I am teaching you how to suck eggs ;)

Not at all, i have never calibrated a monitor so all advice welcome. loks like theres a bit of rain coming up due to a "Spanish Plume" so should help with that wildfire.

Morning all.

Paul, get yourself a Spyder Pro 3 or similar to help you calibrate your screen.

And to everyone, there's only a very short submission period for this month's Battle of the Clubs competition, deadline is the middle of next week so get your entries sorted and let's get team POTN to the finals!!

Morning gang

Not sure if anybody's seen this, it would seem our very own Anke has a hobby outside of photography!

Like it, not something you see everyday near your home. What time were you out and about last night?

We went up during daylight hours 8:30 ish for about an hour and had an explore. We then returned about 11 ish and got passed the roundabout. However we did receive a few telling offs from Police for being up there during at night.

With a Ken Rockwell feel to it:

You don't need one because when you take photos the world colour corrects itself for you? ;)

LOL

Since my only cameras are now the G9 and mobile phone, I somehow think that I won't be taking photos seriously enough to warrent them being in perfect colour.

What an opportunity :D

I recalled reading very good testimonials for this company who sell & rent Dye printers for event onsite situations http://www.systeminsight.co.uk …nt-or-hire-equipment.html (external link) these also rent printers http://www.photomart.co.uk/ (external link) but no idea for the "booth & costumes" ???

I have a Misubishi CP9550 event printer.....

From the BBC yesterday. Some really great photos - listen to audio commentary as it really helps explain the images and the competition

I've tried to catch up - seems the UK has had forest fires, a royal wedding and OBL is no longer... anything else going on?
