Using a 450D with a Metz 45 CL-4 off-camera

I've got a Courtenay FM44A Ambient Flashmeter, I also got given this, but can't find any information about it online. It's an accurate flashmeter, however it's just a flashmeter. And as I like to do a bit of night long shutter speed shots it would be nice to have a lightmeter that doesn't only read from a flash

Look on the used market. All too many of the current generation of photographers have no concept of brands other than Sekonic, and they are missing out on many fine used meters from Minolta or Gossen.

got the cable i ordered from ebay and the V5s today. they work perfectly with my canon speedlite, however the pc to metz lead i bought doesn't connect to the V5s, as they are both male pc cords (i think), do i need a female to female pc cord? if one exists...
