Say I'm interested in a particular cheap UWA lens. Say this lens has a noticeable amount of barrel distortion. Say this lens is made by a rather obscure company. Say its distortion looks like this:

Now, if I wanted to create a "lens profile" for ACR that corrects some of the distortion, how would I do that?

Basically, together with the software you get jpgs for targets to be printed out and instructions on how to print them and how to photograph them. You load the resulting photo files into the program and it cranks out the profile.

You do it by downloading the Adobe Lens Profile Creator software and following the insturctions on how to use it: http://labs.adobe.com …gies/lensprofile_creator/ (external link)

The embedded photo shows Ken Rockwell's logo; unless you're him you should like to the photo rather than embed it in your post.

Another way would be to go to the Lens Correction tab in ACR, adjust the settings, and save as a preset.
