I am having a headache here. I have a client who ordered a bunch of 4x6 prints. I believe the aspect ratio is 2:3. However, the shots, I believe, were all cropped under 4:5. To get the shot to fit the print, I have to crop out a lot of the composition. Is there a way around it??? Other than not to crop the shot at all but leaving out some blank/white area on both top and bottom or right and left.

Hmm -- where did they get these photos? It sounds like the photographer cropped them -- were your clients clients of the original photog?

There may not be a "good" solution -- either you crop the images or add a border, as you suggest. Or, they could contact the original photog. But, if they don't have permission to use these, well, umm, that a whole other can of worms.

Heheheh....they are my photos....I guess my client didn't really look to see the crop issue before ordering the prints. Not everyone understands about the whole cropping issues. I just have to crop them and to explain to him why some of the photos may not look like what he saw before.

Never mind. I just need to recrop the original with the "correct" aspect ratio and to re-edit it.

Because of the popularity of P&S cameras today, lots of print labs do 4.5x6.
