Experts,
I have mild upgrade fever. Please advise.
Current body - Canon 400D with battery grip
Likes - size, dependability, ease of use (normally use Av mode), focus, long batt life
Dislikes - slow fps and buffer, 2.5" screen, high ISO noise
What I shoot - landscapes, wildlife, birds, some street shots, night shots, low light. Limited sports. (See Flickr link for examples of a few favorites.) Willing to consider trading the vaunted EFS 17-55mm IS (my low light lens) for a body which can run at high ISO. I will miss that lens though so wanna be careful on the tradeoff.
Thoughts -
60D - don't shoot video but otherwise seems ok for me. How huge is the difference from the 400D?
7D - I have two EF-S lenses I could use on this. Like fast focus, fps and low noise. Body is big but seems acceptable.
5 series - not sure I want focus issues but otherwise IQ is appealing. Used 35mm for ages so FF is cool. I'm not convinced IQ improvement is tangible. Larger file size would be a drag.
1 series - as a hobbyist hard to justify price but borrowed one from friend and liked results. Seems slightly over the top.
Discuss.
Thanks.
