I have an 82mm B+W Kaesmann circular polarizing filter, and I find it most difficult to rotate. Does anyone have any idea how I can make it easier to rotate? None of my other B+W polarizing filters are difficult to rotate, but this is my first Kaesmann filter. Is this difficulty a function of it being a Kaesman filter, or perhaps because of the filter size? My next largest filters are 77mm.
Thanks, Mary

not had a problem with my 77mm Kasemann CircPol. Contact the manufacturer and see if they can suggest something. Might just be binding.

I found the phone number for the East Coast branch for Schneider Optics, so I think I'll give them a call tomorrow. Before I purchased this filter I read the reviews, which said that the filter was a little difficult to rotate, but I didn't expect this much difficulty.

All of my Kaesemann's have a little bit of resistance to them, but not to the point where I can't rotate the ring. I actually prefer a bit of drag as opposed to free-spinning...makes it easier to dial in just the right amount of polarization. If yours has a slight drag to it, I wouldn't worry about it. But if something is grinding and causing it, that's a completely different story.

It is more than a slight drag, which I too find desirable. It makes using the filter downright difficult.

I called Schneider Optics in NY a few days ago, and they told me to send them the filter. Got an email on Tuesday wherein they apologized for the inconvenience and said that they were sending a replacement under warranty. Wish I had sent it in to them sooner, as it would have saved me a lot of frustration!
