Hi everyone I have a Canon 60D came with a kit lens 18 - 135mm, and I have the following:

50mm 1.8
100mm 2.8L USM IS Macro
70-200mm 2.8L USM IS II

The 60D is not a full frame camera.

Question 1: Do I have (based on the above) a good wide lens for landscapes?

Question 2: Is there a lens out there that could be better at landscapes?

any other thoughts or advise would be great!!

S. Nelson

how wide do you wanna go? but based on your lens lineup, i recommend the following:

1) EF-S 17-55
2) EF-S 15-85
3) EF-S 10-22 (UWA for EF-S)

I don't know how wide is too wide. I do know I don't want a fish eye lens at this point. Just a good wide angle lens for landscapes.

With my kit lens I can get down to 18mm. I think my kit lens looks pretty good and clear but may not be wide enough.

Personally i would recommend using what you have got at the moment and after a while you will (maybe) find that you need something wider, or better quality that you already have.
'Landscapes' can be taken at just about any focal length, but generally speaking a 'wide' landscape lens (on a crop body like your 60D) can be considered anything from 10mm to about 28mm.
I use the Canon 10-22mm for my wide angle landscapes and it's a great lens for this purpose, but you may find 18mm wide enough...

Obviously it seems like the 18mm on his kit lens isn't wide enough for him.
I would recommend the Tokina 11-16mm or Canon 10-22mm.

The Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 is a good buy too, and cheaper than other lenses mentioned.

These are the three best EF-S zoom lenses Canon makes. 10-22 is the way to go for wide. You won't regret it.

judging by his equipment, I'd say budget isn't really a concern ;)

get the 10-22.

Get the Sigma 8-16. The widest lens that exists.

not at 10mm or at above 16mm ;)
nor does it have better IQ when shooting into a bright light source, since the image is then dotted with flare spots.

I've got the 10-22mm and the 15-85mm. Love them both. For walkaround the 15-85mm is best. For deliberate scenic wide shots... 10-22mm is just magnificent.
