member of a local car group gave me a call yesterday. he picked up a 5.9 Jeep and wanted me to take a couple of pics of it. I haven't done any car shots before - (save for the good 'ol snapshots at car shows) but he didn't care one bit. Since he didn't mind and I had time I though why not. He was happy with the results, and I thought I'd share a few. C&C is welcome.

I should add that I don't think he could have picked a poorer day to do it though. gray flat skies, rain/snow mix and it was about 35*f and a nasty north wind

#3 would have been perfect without a lot of the grass in the foreground... but nice job though overall.

Grey flat skies are actually good for cars. Acts like a giant softbox.

Not bad and I agree cloudy skies are great cause they defuse the light a lot better. To me some of them seems to be a little underexposed. But it could be the iPad that I'm on. Over I like the set.

good to know. dreary skies are helpful for car shots. never would have thought of it but now it makes total sense. makes it alot more forgiving for contrast.
