Just wanted to get a feel for what POTN folks thought. I have read good thing so far on various places, including POTN (like "can't wait to buy" or the like). But is Yongnuo hit or miss, pretty good quality control? Thanks.

I just bought a Yongnuo OC-E3 sync cord off ebay and very happy with it. No problems at all and 1/5 the price of the official Canon OC-E3.

I looked at the yn-560 but then discovered they had regular auto flashes like the Canon brand name flashes. I will buy brand name to get quality but money also talks and the Yongnuo speedlights are pretty cheap compared.

Yongnuo is fine. There were old quality control problems with the flashes that have a plastic hotshoe foot, but they have since switched to metal and improved the quality. I have a YN-468 with ETTL. I just bought another YN-460ii as well.

Have four flashes, four RF-602 RX, two Tx, never had a problem with any of them.

I have been using a YN-467 for a while. I have had no problems with it. Once the batteries start to get low the performance drops. I just throw a fresh set of batteries in and it's good to go.

I ordered the YN560 off Amazon in early December and it came with a metal hotshoe foot. Great flash so far.

I bought a YN460II and after 2 pops at full power it won't recharge and I have to power it off for about 15 minutes. Goes all day at half and lower.

I would never use it in the field.

My 2 460iis have metal feet and have never had a problem. My 602s have also been bullet proof. I did manage to overheat a 460ii during a shoot by popping it off at full or near full power for about 15-20 mins pretty non-stop. It took about 15 mins to cool down, and then was fine.
For the money, Yongnuo stuff is really hard to beat IMO.

The only "problem" I've had with the RF-60x triggers is that when the battery gets below a certain point, it won't fire. It will still give you the right lights, things will light up, and look like it should be working, but you won't get a flash. When in doubt with YN stuff, replace batteries.
