I really liked that Zeltsman "angles" bit. I've got a prom shoot for 10 couples at a fountain next month, and I just ran out there and did a preview shoot of some angles.

...............

Boy, that Prom shoot went well! Because of the Zeltsman ref, I simply posed them like I knew what I was doing. They all easily complied. The parents all wanted to know how to get copies ("Do you have a photo studio?")... you can't believe how wonderful those words sounded to this amateur. I also posed family group shots - some of those were very "interesting"... in one family the dad was a farmer in strapped dungarees... I ended-up cropping a closeup of his face just because it was so weathered and interesting... his daughter looked like a Disney princess!!

My grandson ended-up going with two girls, because one ditched her prom-date when she discovered he had another girlfriend. Ahh, high-school days.

The 28mm/1.8 wasn't quite as crisp as my 85mm/1.8, but the space I had to move in was restricted. It did work OK - in a couple of crops I can see the girls eyelashes and individual strands of hair blowing in the wind..... but I still prefer the 85 for portraits.

The avatar is my middle grandson. (the TF can't tell the difference, but the fish is frowning and the kid is grinning)
