I really didn't ONLY shoot eagles when I was in Alaska... This is (I'm pretty sure) a thick-billed murre.

Very cool shot of this beautiful bird Judy. I don't think I've seen one of these posted here before.

A clockwise location to level this out would be my only suggestion, your exposure is perfect.

Gorgeous bird, Judy. Exposure is right on. Agree with Steve about CW rotation but, other than that, it is a 3 thumbs up! I wish my trip to Alaska 2 years ago had been as productive! I'm curious, Judy, whether you were using a tripod on this trip or were you handholding your 100-400? I know Artie is a big proponent of tripods even with the 400's.

Very Nice. Cute looking little bird.

Personally I like the angle and wouldn't mess with it. Pictures of birds swimming perfectly horizontal are a dime a dozen and don't always look natural.

Adorable shot, Judy. Yet another fantastic shot...color and clarity are terrific.

Another excellent shot Judy. You handle the dark and white perfectly.

Thanks to you both, and this is the same debate I was having internally. I finally came down on the side of: this is what it looked like at the time.

Thanks, Ian. No, I wasn't using the tripod. I have one, I brought it along, but frankly with the 100-400 it's just generally overkill for most shots. This particular shot was one where I couldn't have used the tripod: we were on a moving boat heading across the bay when we spotted this character.

Thanks, folks! I'm really struggling with the whites and blacks, but this one managed to come out well.
