I didn't see this posted, so I thought I would share. I received this email from CPS last night:

There was a posting on Canon's site on the 4th that said all production will be 100% by then end of this month.

The rest will follow shortly...

Edit: added source

Although the Canon Group sustained damage to buildings and production equipment, a concerted Company-wide effort has already made possible the resumption of production activities at multiple Canon Inc. operation sites and Canon Group companies. In addition, through ongoing recovery measures being carried out in conjunction with related divisions, all Canon Inc. operation sites and Canon Group companies are expected to achieve a full recovery as of the end of April.

That's great to hear, but remember, the distribution lines are still going to be just a bit screwed up. I for one would expect supply to still be tight for some time.

Yeah, the supplies will be "tight" and the prices "high" until demand drops off a bit or Nikon flinches first and their prices start to fall off. They'll both see how long the market will sustain these higher prices.

Cameras: 7D2, S100
Lenses: 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM, 18-135 STM, 24-70 f/4L IS USM, 50 f/1.4 USM,70-300L IS USM

Canon and Nikon haven't raised prices to the retailers, the retailers have raised prices to the consumers.

The only thing I have direct knowledge of that shows Nikon or Canon trying to lower demand for their cameras is the Nikon AC program that goes to Nikon retailers. The AC program pays a spiff directly from Nikon on cameras sold; handy when there are sales that lower the price to "below cost" and stiff the comissioned sales people. Nikon has (at least temporarily) suspended the program in an effort to lessen demand. The cost of their cameras to retailers hasn't changed at all from what I am able to gather/see.
