Is it wrong? I really wish FD lenses were better suited for EOS...but it's what it is.

$142 for 50mm f1.4
$48 for 43-86mm f3.5 Surprisingly Sharp
$89 for 28mm f2.8

I can tell these lenses are pretty sharp. But I'll be using these mostly for video.

Yeah! A lot of old Nikkors are great glass! I've got a couple I'm tempted to adapt (24/2.8 and 35/2)

You know...I've been playing with these lenses all day... well, getting to know them.. rather learning how to manually focus and expose again. I lurked over to the Nikon forum also.. Funny, 43-86mm zoom lens pops up as the worst lens.. some even saying it's only good for "soft" portraits. Heck, I only paid $48 for it.

Well, I'm tempted to say that my 43-86 zoom is tack sharp..and my favorite so far. It's great for video also. I was out shooting my son kicking around a soccer ball...and while manually focusing and manually adjusting the aperture, I'm going to say it's a one sharp lens...I won't make a comparison to 70-200 2.8 IS as y'all will shoot me..

50mm f1.4 is nice... but at 1.4, the DOF is very shallow and I've gotten a lot of OOF shots. 28mm lens is sharp and plenty wide on my 5Dc.

I think this was taken at 86mm focused on the STOP sign.

I still have a bag full of manual focus Nikkors dating back from the mid 1970s,, 20mm to 300mm plus four Nikon bodies..They are all in the hands of my niece who still shoots film..

IMO manual focus Nikkors are some of the best glass to come out of Japan..

Well, I have six M42 mount lenses I'm waiting to try. One is a Super Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens.. but I haven't gotten the adapter yet. I did give it a Sunlight treatment today to de-yellow the Thorium degradation. :D
