I did a quick search of this topic and did not find it.

A photographer from Oslo put in some long hours, hard work and came up with some really fantastic results. The following link is a video of some of his results.

If you liked that, go see the real video here on Vimeo (along with others he's made), they're truly spectacular (HD, full screen). The video mentioned in the interview is called "The Mountain".

If you want more info on how he did it, he answered stuff in this thread on Reddit:

http://www.reddit.com …e_of_the_milky_way_crazy/ (external link)

Where he also shows the dolly setup:

(Which is from http://www.dynamicperception.com/ (external link) )

Apparently from all the locations he wanted to shoot (50 or so) he didn't get like 3 of them due to time.

Thanks for the link to the interview. The video is amazing.. probably a little saturated for me, but we're all critics, right? ;)

Very inspirational stuff.

I can't view the videos because I'm at work, but is the Manfrotto tripod really holding up that large plate/dolly thing that the 5D is attached to?!!!

I have a feeling the dolly actually hits the ground so the tripod is only there for additional stability in the other directions. According to their website that dolly weighs 15 lbs, or ~7kg. Check out the size of it:

That thing is 6 foot (or ~183 cm)!
