Someone out there must have one! I think I read that they were sold out at one point.
They look very cool and stylish....but pretty expensive!
Any comments from users?

Overpriced. When did photography become a fashion show?

When wasn't it?
I know it is for me! I like nice looking bags. But, I'm wondering about the practical experience with the bags...size, sturdiness, etc.

Definitely not cheap, but nice looking bags. Just from the photos it looks like the straps and buckles would be pain in normal use. Certainly not a bag that would allow you to shoot quickly.

they look great.
ive seen a few reviews online. just google it.
they're definitely expensive, and probably not worth it.
but hey, its your money.. spend it how you wish.
i personally want one, but its not as vital to me so i decided to go the very cheap route with a tenba insert in an army surplus store canvas bag.
not the prettiest thing, but definitely discreet and functional.

everything is a fashion show. most people want to look presentable or fashionable. Its one reason why people buy domke bags over the lowepro bags or tamrac bags sold at best buy.

Well ... yeah ... I just got one.;) The ONA "Union Street"

It is gorgeous! Mine is the tan color one (although the smoke color looks pretty nice too). Once I get some time I will post some pictures of it loaded up with my gear.

I haven't had a chance to do anything with it other than admire it so far (it came the day I left for a week in Vegas, and then I had to finish my taxes today).

The straps and buckles are all for show (or for adjustment only). Underneath them is a simple and quick brass push-release buckle for opening the bag. See the ONA web site for pictures or the demo video they link to there.

It looks like it is going to work great for my needs ... camera with 3 lenses, flash, and a Macbook Air. That is about all I want to carry around when I travel (although I usually have additional lenses I can swap out in my TT roller bag depending on the anticipated activities. It is also nice and thin (no gripped cameras here), and I like that it doesn't fall over when I set it down.

They are now in stock I believe at ONA, but I bought mine from Adorama on eBay a couple of weeks ago. I had been lusting for one since last fall when they were announced and backordered for months. Someone here on the forums mentioned that Adorama was selling them on eBay, so they must have received one of the long-backordered shipments once they became available.

I have way too many bags ... but this one is definitely a keeper for me!

BTW: my wife makes fun of my "bagaholic" collection of mostly Think Tank bags. However, there are two bags she actually acknowledged look great: The ONA Union Street, and the Billingham Hadley Pro.

i really want one, but i'd never forgive myself for forking over the money.
i've gone through too many bags and chances are i'd end up selling it because i felt bad.
the kelly moore bags are also very nice. kind of pricy, but not as bad.

Money is not worth the paper it is printed on until you spend it, so why not pick up some nice things?

true.
there was a clip of oprah i saw about shopaholics.
They were successful women who have degrees, good careers, and stable families. but they just cannot stop spending money on luxury items.

one woman said "What's wrong with having nice things?"

i laughed. but agreed. it truly is an illness, lol.
i end up saying that to myself whenever i buy something i dont need. haha
seriously, people who typically go on canon forums lust after the good stuff.
i'm not saying thats a good or bad thing. i'm definitely guilty, lol.

$280 for a knock-off military messenger bag with an ill-fitting camera insert?!?!?!? Fail!

This is almost as nice for about $50:

the ona bag is waxed canvas, so the most comparable bag would the ruggedwear by domke.

i wouldnt say the military messenger bag is as nice, but its definitely a more sensible alternative.

Well ... I have one of those too ... with a Tenba insert in it. Yes, it is just as functional as the ONA bag, but it is nowhere near as nice looking. :)

I use that one when I am walking through the muddy woods trying to catch a shot of a nice buck, I will use the ONA when my wife and I are on a cruise, or a more formal trip, or when out at social event with my family and relatives.

Heading down to Florida in a few days ... I think the Union Street will be carrying my gear ...

I'm curious to know your thoughts on the Union Street as a camera-only bag, since the laptop divider is removable. I don't think that I'd reasonably want to carry around three lenses and flash with my computer to work everyday, but I certainly might want to carry three lenses and a flash on a trip or to an event when I don't need my computer. Or it might be nice to stick some GND's, a filter wallet, or a folded-up softbox in the laptop compartment.

If you get a chance, perhaps you could advise how the bag works and feels without the laptop divider in place. Depending upon the lenses that you have, it seems like it might be unnecessarily tall without a laptop requiring that height. Do the camera equipment dividers easily span the width of the bag without the laptop compartment?

If it works well both with and without the laptop, it seems like it would be a really nice dual purpose bag, which might ease the cost a little. At least in one's mind. :-)

Thanks very much for your opinions! I've read the reviews online but it would be nice to hear from someone that actually owns one and uses it.

I got the Union Street about a week ago and I'll put up a mini review when I have a bit more time.

It's good for what I use it for - toting laptop & brick, gripped 7D, 50mm prime and flash.
A gripped camera with lens doesn't really fit into the bag - you do need to take the lens off before the camera will fit.

Shoulder strap is a bit on the thin side, but I don't need to carry it a long distance.
