.....would you be offended if I called you strange? Hahaha....i kid i kid, this inst a horrible idea I suppose if your really strapped for cash? Although if your that strapped for cash maybe photography is not the hobby for you.....

Theoretically after your batteries are dead they become the newly coined term "e-waste" and should be disposed of accordingly depending on your local bylaws and regulations pertaining to the disposal of electronic waste.

I don't save all of them because the remote batteries dont go out as fast
comes in handy when you sitting around and batteries go out

im just saving for more accessories so saving money is good , but i really should look into getting some nice rechargeable

We use rechargables....but its amazing how many of them end up in the remotes and Wii controllers. Our kiddos always know where to find good batteries. Grrrrrrr

Sanyo eneloops are the ones that will be most suggested. Pick up a good size set plus charger and you will be set.

Before i bought a few boxes of rechargables, i use to put the batteries into the freezer and when i needed them for my wireless mouse, remotes, or anything that doesnt require so much power, i would use them for that.

I save the Copper Tops I take out of my flash units and use them around the house - clocks, remote temperature units, anything that isn't a big draw on the batteries.

I do this as well. Sometimes, I know there's still juice in them even though a particular device might think there's not enough.

All my low-power AA's are saved for use in the Wii-mote, TV remote and clocks. I know it's pinching pennies at that point, but I don't care. Once completely dead, I recycle with my local Waste Management center.

I just bought 16x Sanyo Eneloop AA's for less than $40. Couldn't believe it. By far the best batteries my speedlites have seen! Just thought I'd share the savings ;) Also, recycle times are a lot faster than when I used to use alkaline batteries. Hope this helps!

Over and over and over again, I keep reading great things about those Eneloop AA's. Must check them out! I also save the AA's I remove from my flash, because I'm nuts about making sure my batteries are fresh when i'm doing a shoot. so the batteries I remove are never really "spent" batteries. I figure I'm doing penance to the green movement for my refusal to stop using disposal diapers for my children. Renew, reuse, recycle and all that jazz.

Freezer??? does that preserve them? does this work? could this be a question for Adam and Jamie of the mythbusters?
