Nice shots! Really like the Broad-winged Hawk shot, the Pileated just makes me jealous (I've never managed to get a shot of one:-))

Terrific shots, both.

Mike,

And I can't seem to catch dragonflies. Yet, past Saturday, I pull up to the front of my house after a so-so trial using my brand new 7D and there not 25 feet away from me is a Pileated hammering the hell out of an old maple tree out front, sending wood chips to the ground. It could'nt care less about me. In fact, I didn't shoot him at first and instead brought stuff into the house and changed out lenses. Then I walked out, took a dozen shots, went back inside, dowloaded the shots, and not satisfied, went back out again, increasing the shutter speed to avoid head blur. Didn't matter to him, he kept on hammering.

Had I known, I would have called you. and you could have flown in for an easy shot. He was still up there for a couple hours.
