That was a big stumbling block for me...I considered that lens before buying my 16-35L II and ended up going with the Canon in the end... I hear greatthings about this lens. It does not have filter thread. I probably keep my 17-40 for the filter options and wanting to add Tokina lens. 1Ds IR, 5DIII, 1DIII, 17-40, 24-105, 70-200, TS-E24, 40, 50, 85, 100, MP-E65

Most of the samples are fairly useless to be able to judge much (shot at f8 or around there). The one thing rarely mentioned but often seen in the sample images is bad, localized flare. I was considering this lens to replace a 17-40 for concerts but since I am almost always shooting into the lights, I doubt this lens would work well under those conditions. Bohdan - I may be, and probably am, completely wrong.

Flare seems to be a consistent downfall with Tokina UWAs... I didn't notice how bad it was on my 11-16 until I got my 17-40L (and then 16-35L) and realized that I didn't have to keep cloning it out all the time haha -=Prints For Sale at PIXELS=-

The 16-35L II is considered heavy at 634g. I know it's not a huge deal for many (including me), but for some (I remember a thread about lightweight lenses a while ago by people who really cared about weight), that might be a deciding point. -=Prints For Sale at PIXELS=-
