get rid of the stuff to the left of the chair, maybe leave the pocket book, keep the books on the right. Sharpen the face. Looks like it could be a really good pic.

That is my one downfall, I cropped it down from 18 mp to 3.8mp becasue i originally had 2 chairs in the picture. I was able to make a 16x20 print though that was pretty good!

move the subjects chair so that the stuff to the left of the chair is out of view. remove the chair in the background. Minimize the clutter.

Thats a good idea for the chair! And the clutter is what helps make the picture, as older woman always have clutter.

Nice shot, the only nitpick I have is that her feet & legs are a bit distorted, making her lower body look much bigger/longer than her upper body. Perhaps this is the look you're going for. My guess is that you were shooting from low? Try to shoot at her eye level to reduce the distortion. Just a thought. :)
