I currently have Slik DX700 Pro tripod legs (these specifically (external link)) with a ball head. The legs are fantastic and are super sturdy. However, after using them a number of times, I've decided that they're just overkill for me. They are large and heavy and can easily support much more weight than I will ever put on them. Also, I'm not that tall and so I don't need a tripod that gets super tall (this one gets about 70-75" fully extended).

I really would like something that's a little more compact and lightweight. I don't need any top of the line, super compact, carbon fiber legs, or anything like that. Just something smaller and more transportable than these.

Anyone have any suggestions for a pair of legs that fits the bill in the ~$100 range? I'd like to sell my current ones and get a new pair, or even trade someone who is perhaps looking to upsize.

I saw this Benro classic on B&H that seem like they could be a good option (for only $83): http://www.bhphotovideo.com …F_4_Section_Aluminum.html (external link)

Personally I'd rather have too much tripod than not enough.

i'd rather have too much tripod also, which is why I went with this one. Now I'm starting to think that I got a little TOO much tripod for my needs.

So...any other suggestions?
