actually the Lastolite looks very interesting. Had bunch Avengers already but for V3 lol...

It is quite interesting. I happen to own one ;) It came with one of my Lastolite Skylite kits.

Here's what it looks like close up:

What it's holding in the photo is actually an entire 10' Calumet light stand:

The light stand column is 30mm in diameter.

By the way, I just snapped these photos for you with my antique (in digital terms) Olympus C-8080. What a lens on that camera!

Thank you, Peter. I think switching over to a light stand riser column was an excellent idea. One thing that occurred to me is that the Lastolite branded version (http://www.bhphotovideo.com …rip_Head_for_Skylite.html (external link)) of the Avenger D200 grip head might work well for you as it accommodates larger tube diameters than the Avenger version. Silly price, though.

Now you have us all looking forward to Golf Cart Light Stand V3.

Saw this thread Monday night. Scoured craigslist and found an old steel folding push/pull cart. $15 and some spare parts laying around combined to give me this:

The Explorer XT weighs about 18 lbs which will also double as a counterweight. Now all I need is a couple of flat bungee cords to hold the battery in place and I'm in business.
