what is the recommended aperture to use with this lens when used in studio portraiture photography? i also own this lens and find i am always pushing aperture to below f2 just because i know it can go that far. Intersted in some more professional opinions in this area

Regards

I am not a pro, but I may be able to help you by saying it is all what you want your portrait to look like.Do you want the whole head in focus, both eyes in focus, or just a zit on the end of the nose in focus....

I guess your setting for your choice here would depend on how much room you have to back up.

Usually I shoot upper torso to head and shoulders shots at about f1.8. I have not really tried any other apertures. I might give it a go at 5.6 and see the effect.

Are here any examples of " jaw dropping" images taken with this lens. I would really like to see some

Regards
