i Have been watching some tutorials and saw a feature I would love. I can do it when shooting tethered to my laptop. Is there a way that I set up a timer sequence on the 50D. Maybe a firmware upgrade.

Say I want to take a sequence of 10 pictures, 5 seconds apart? I know there is a 2 and 15 second timer built in. Is this only a feature on higher end cameras? Or on nikon? Just curious. Thanks!

Hi. As far as I know there isnt. I bought this thing though which does exactly that amongst other things. Works really well - you can set the number of pictures (can be infinite till the camera runs out of battery or fills the memory card up), time between pictures, delay before first picture etc.

It's easy to blend the photos together in windows movie maker (free program from microsoft - it's a windows add on). Here's my first attempt - not great, but the principle is there!

The 50D can not do this, but for around $20 there are a multitude of Canon TC-80N3 clones of the timer remote shutter release with built in interval timers. They work great. Just search "Canon TC-80N3".

6D, 5D, 7Dii, Eos R and too many lenses, flashes and aux. gear to list!
