I was looking at Really Right Stuff's Carbon fiber tripod line... which looks fantastic.. But I already have a Gitzo 3 series 6X systematic carbon fiber tripod which is probably about equal except for one feature... the really great mushroom-cap shaped leg tips on the RSS tripods.

I called RSS and sure enough the RSS tips fit my Gitzo perfectly... I HIGHLY reccomend them... muxh better perchase on soil or rock and if you have you pod's legs fully splayed out for those extra low shots the tips keep the legs distanced off the ground just enough so they will not get scratched up.bw!

I'm just back from a vacation in Ireland and could have done with the RRS rock claw feet (external link)on my Benro travel tripod. All Benro, Gitzo and RRS feet are interchangeable.

My Giottos tripod also has accessory feet of three different types: Snowshoe, Multifunction All Weather and Large Rubber Ball foot.

The Snowshoe feet are great for sand, snow or soft earth while the Multifunction feet are great for smooth/slippery surfaces. I have never seen the Large Rubber Ball Foot but, expect that this is a general purpose foot.

Wow those are awesome! Wish my 1541T had interchangable feet.
