as i was shooting a session few weeks ago i have noticed these shadow bars on my images as shown here. And now this last weekend i got this nasty one as you can see it with the baby shot. the last nasty shot was just one that turned out this way out of 200 shots taken. the previous two with the boy turned out to be just 3 out of 160. i used at least 2 580ex(qbox and umbrella) with 5Dmk2 with YNrf-602 triggers shot at 1/160.
any help please??
these where just random shots.

What shutter speed are you using?

To be honest, the first two look like the problem is with the lighting since I see the same shadow getting darker. The third looks like something got in front of the lens.

Do you have anything between the flash and the subject?

looks like a sync speed issue to me, are you sure you were shooting at 1/160th?

To put this in context, you are responding to my deleted post saying I think the shutter may be failing. I removed it when I noticed you are using a studio flash setup, which I know almost nothing about.

What I do know is that my MKIIN showed similar behavior just before an Err99 and shutter replacement. Without a flash.

Looks like there is lots of lag in the third picture thus causing the curtain to show in the frame.
Dont know about the first two, thou. Might be the same thing but not as important as the third picture because there was also some available light.

Trigger a shot at 1/320 and 1/400 with the same setup and see if it looks similar. Or try another trigger. Do you turn the camera clockwise for portrait mode? Are you lefty?
