Awesome lens, got it from craigslist for 900 with a b+w UV filter was debating for days for something to go with my 35L I think I made a good decision for my t2i what do you think. I had the 17-40L the tamron 17-50vc and also the sigma 30 and canon 50 1.4. I can finally sleep well at night but I think I might need a wide angle but ill try to make it work. Any body did any photography in Puerto Rico ?

So you prefer the 24-105 to the 17-50 which is a faster lens and wider at the one end?

Very hard to beat 24-105 on any body as a good walkaround lens. Be aware you can get refurbished 24-105 from Canon USA for $920. Got one from Canon USA as refurbished for $920 each. It was like new. :D

Yeah I do prefer the 24-105 over the tamron 17-50vc because if I need speed I pull out the 35L I might just rent a sigma 10-20 4-5.6 from lensrental I'm not sure still. I always feel safe buying canon Ls after having the 35L its hard to go back too any 3rd party lenses, but I always been interested in the Zeiss 50 1.4 ill probably add in the future when I go full frame.

Didn't think about canon USA damn, first time buying something from craigslist but I sold all my gear through craigslist no problems yet, I always go meet at Barnes and noble or something similar.

Congrats on a great lens. I lived in Puerto Rico for a long time and there are lot's of great sights. Some of the more popular ones are the Old San Juan with all the forts, plazas, colonial buildings and people, el Yunque rain forest, the Camuy caves, Luquillo beach and el Conquistador hotel.
Enjoy the island.

Congratulations adorabledan :) I've been longing to have that lens. Can you post some photos shot with 24-105L if it's not a problem for you :) You see I'm not being able to decide whether to get canon 17-55mm 2.8 IS, Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 or 24-105L. I'd be grateful to you if you could take 3 photos from the same standpoint in three different focal length at f4. One photo at 24mm one at 55mm and one last at 105mm. It would be easy for me to know which focal length suits me. Maybe I'm asking too much from you, but it'd mean a lot to me.

24-70mm RAWR! xD
I really love this lens, I had the 24-105mm but it was less quality then the 24-70mm. So I'm selling my 24-105mm, check the link on the bottom. Congratulations on your purchase!

The 24-105 is my fastest sold lens, after only 6 months for the great 28-70 2.8L which is out of production, but superb!

- Heavy vignetting on a 5D at 24mm & 105mm, every picture needs correction, or you have to use the lens profiles in PS to correct it automatically.
- the bokeh was not so soft (rather like f2.8 for portraits, I do a lot of portraits)
- rather like less hunting, speed is always handy!

That's why I sold my last f4 lens, I try to have the lowest fixed apertures for my primes & zooms (f2.8) for more dreamy bokeh pictures in daylight or with evening lights.
It's a popular zoom due to the range, but I rather have less range and the other, more important, advantages.
