As to the color, yeah, you can tell in the first two images, when they are strutting, they become a lot more colorful (necks get more red, face a little more blue). In the last pic where the male is just walking away, you can tell that the colors tone themselves down. Was fascinating to catch the mating ritual. Name is Peter and here is my gear:
