Hi,

I am new to photography, but tonight at the lake I saw these tiny shore birds. I appreciate all comments and critiques as I want to learn how to get better. Thanks!

Raise the ISO and get your shutter speed up: birds move fast, and the faster you can shoot, the more you'll freeze the action. That being said, these are a good start, especially the second one!

Thanks! I will remember that about ISO. How high should I go?

You're certainly off to a good start...#3 is very nice.
High ISO is nice as long as it doesn't create a bunch of noise in the exposure, and is certainly a function of how the camera/lens is being supported (i.e. handheld vs monopod vs tripod). You really just have to play around with your camera/lens combination and find the "sweet spot" for exposure. It's all about learning so get out and shoot......we certainly look forward to more....:)
