manfrotto 498rc2 help me ,please

hi

last night i was taken shoot with my manfrotto with a 498rc2 ball head

well i was a fool and absent minded and i did completely unscrew the ball knob , it did fall to the ground

it did fall to the ground a small steel pin,luckily in the darkness i found it

i tried to fix it again in the darkness , and the pan knob did fall to the ground too

yes i know i'm dupe

now may i ask you your help ?

1) for the ball knob , i did put the steel pin inside the hole of the ball head with large edge deep inside and i did screw the know

did i do it correctly ?


2) for the pan know i did not find a steel pin or other parts but only the knob with a flat ends , i did screw it

did i do it correctly ? or did i loose some small pieces/parts ?

to clarify my horrible english

1) when the ball knob has been dropped , i found 2 separate pieces
the ball knob and a small steel pin
in short in the night i found on the ground first the ball knob and after 20 minutes the steel pin
i had to mount them, and i did not how do it

2) the pan knob has been dropped tooo , i found the pan knob but not the steel pin for it
i don't know if the pan knob needs to work the small steel pin
