Hi there, I'm hoping the expertise on this forum can help me with a query:

Kit: 5DMkII, EF 35mm 1.4 lens, ACR 6.3 on Mac Snow Leopard.

The 5DMkII has the option of Peripheral Illumination Correction, and there is a profile for my lens in the camera. However, ACR 6.3 also has an option of Lens Profile Corrections and also has a setting for this lens.

My question: If I have the camera correction enabled, is it duplicating (and therefore distorting) to also enable the ACR correction profile for this lens? Should I use one or the other? Thanks in advance!

If you are shooting RAW the in camera setting has no effect in ACR so you have to enable it there.

If you want to explore this further, the Canon Raw software gives you the option of applying this. You could try it out on an image without "messing with" the Raw data, meaning that you could then open it in ACR and compare how effective each app is.
