They appear to have partnered up with 47th St. Photo for some of their gear. I was wondering why the pages of lenses kept going and going. I'd even found the Sigma 1.4 on the page which was not available from Newegg(well 47th St. Photo) when I had checked a couple weeks ago. They even had the better price than what I got too. Newegg may be a viable alternative for camera gear purchases in addition to BH and Adorama.

Wow, that's a little shocking Newegg putting their reputation on the line with a company that has a past like 47th St Photo.

47th has a history? I have not had any issues with them.

Good to know. That way us New Yorkers would have "access" to 47th St. inventory, but wouldn't have to pay sales tax.

BTW, on a side note, I just received my Opteka grip for my 7D today and the order was filled by 47th St. photo...no problems at all. FYI, it is a Better Business Bureau "Accredited" business with an A+ rating.

Not saying anything bad about 47th street but Newegg has been caught selling counterfeit in the past because of dubious suppliers. Their history hasn't been perfect.

I have no idea if the prices are good or not at Crutchfield, but this company ships free within CONUS and outside CONUS (US territories). And is one of the top companies relating to reliability and customer support:

But they have ran out of stock on some L lenses.

Do they (47th photos) actually have a physical store in NYC??? Frankly, I will stay from them. If I am buying lenses again, I would probably be looking for used ones...

Yes--well, there's a smallish warehouse. There was a link somewhere on this site that showed pictures and addresses of online camera stores in the New York area, and 47th was pictured as well.

Bottom line, Canon Authorized Dealer is what matters to me. They can sell out of a van for all I care, so long as they're authorized, and I can use my Visa (which gets me an extra year warranty coverage)

$140.00 and free shipping is not too bad. For example, order from B&H for $134.00, plus shipping, and you will be paying more than $140.00.

How about "newegg.com"?

Newegg has it OOS, because the other week everyone was buying them with the $25 off $100 coupon. No tax in most of the USA, so that $138 lens was actually $113, shipped. I almost bought it myself.
