If they work for your style of photography then they'll be perfect.

When I went to Hawaii my 17-55 spent the most time on my camera and I broke out my 10-22 a few times. I did wish that I had something longer a few times, but I made it work.

I mostly shot Sigma 10-20mm and Canon 100L, but depends what you'll be doing. You can be on the beach, on Haleakala volcano, or in rain forest all in one day.

Those two and a fast 50 (any of them) would cover you well. You will need the fast 50 to shoot night fire shows.

An ND filter and a portable tripod would treat you well on some of those landscape surf shots.

Definitely bring a tripod if you want to shoot sunrise from Haleakala and get there EARLY to secure a spot up front:

You will be fine with those two lenses. I would definitely bring the tripod as well. You don't want to miss the sunrise and sunsets.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Um...maybe you should bring the canon 10-22 in lieu of your sigma. I prefer not to have the flare as part of my photo's.

A 15-85mm is a nice easy to carry lens for that body. Where are you staying?

What? Not my photo... and it is very difficult to control flare of that sunrise at 10k feet.
