I found a bug in CS5 that only seems to appear when focus stacking...discussed it here http://www.photoshopuser.com …um/showthread.php?t=37336 (external link) first.

"Lived with this problem long enough.

MIME changed to 'text/html' | Content warning: script

I have it set to 300 dpi in LR>opens @ 300 dpi in CS5>do some adjustments in CS5>close image via the
"x" box in upper right corner sending it to LR as PSD file>open same PSD image into CS5 and herein lies the rub...
sometimes it's a 300 dpi file and sometimes it's a 240 dpi file. No consistency that I see."
"pixel dimensions are as they should be."

"It happened again this morning...opened several images, from LR, into CS5 as layers and only photostacked them,
240 ppi, closed out the image and repeated the process using the same technique, but this time got 300 ppi.
Repeated again and got 300 ppi....

This was my part of the conversation with my answering some of the questions...others were able to replicate the problem using my work-flow.

Weird. What ppi is ACR set to?

I work from LR but everything is set @ 300 ppi but, like I said, occasionally CS5 coughs out a 240 ppi image with I use the ( "Load in CS5 as layers", then in CS5, > "select all layers" >"auto align" > "auto blend in stack mode") work-flow.

Yeah, but I figured that if somehow the ACR rendering were used instead of LR rendering, and ACR were set to 240ppi…
Weird bug.

A bug, but a fairly harmless one since ppi is either irrelevant or can be easily reset.

That's true Elie...provided you're aware of it. But what if you're running an action on numerous images that is image size dependent and some of them have a different size?
