so i have a phottix BG-E6 (it's always attached to my camera)
i purchased the phottix before because it was half the price of canon and i didn't know if i'd actually keep it on.
fast forward to today. when i bought my 7D, i immediately bought the BG-E7 grip but it's never attached since the focal lengths i use on my 7D are 99% horizontally taken.
here i am thinking, why do i have a canon grip i never use but have a 3rd party grip on my main camera which i use ALL the time. the answer would be to get a canon BG-E6 right?
but there's one thing the phottix has going for it ... weight. it's super light.
aside from the balancing weight and the feel of the grip ... i'm not actually missing anything right? save the money?
This Grip is awesome for the 5D Mark II, has wireless shutter release in it as well
I received this grip a few days ago, so far everything is ok, the rubberized portion of it has better grip than the camera does, it niceley fits the camera, the buttons feel the same as the camera ones, the quartz display is what it is, a simple quartz display... the intervalometer buttons are a bit tiny (I have big hands)sometimes I end up using my nails but that might be 'cause I'm kinda chunky, It has a metal screw for holding it to the camera (I was worried about this because I read in the web that there are some battery grips with plastic screws).
I would recommend it if you are looking for the intervalometer function.
