so im taking my first wedding and i just needed some ideas of how not to be annoying to the guests i mean what do you guys do when you want to take good pics but not be in there faces help SOS

Get a long lens. candid pictures are the best!

I agree with redfire long lens' set iso to about 800 and shoot without flash for a real candid series of photos. You will be unnoticed and get some of the best images this way.

Most important have fun taking photos.

I'm with Photo99 .... candid shot are the best and shoot without a flash.

Treat them with respect, always exhibit a pleasant demeanor, smile and be engaging. This will be very helpful for getting great small candid groupings of 3-6 people (reception shots). The B/G often enjoy these and will sometimes purchase these as gifts. On a FF camera FL's around 24-35 are perfect for this; wider for crops.

Flash is perfectly fine and absolutely necessary at some dark reception halls - bounce off ceiling, side wall, back wall when possible. Without that little addition of "fill" light, overhead spots and unpleasant lighting can render peoples' faces very unflattering. Also have plenty of extra battery power so they don't have to wait for your shots.
