My sister is due to drop any minute, so we thought we'd get a few "bump shots" done before the big day...was nice to practice on them...I have never done bumps before. :)

These are the first three processed...the "bump in a dress" shots. ;)

Did you add the background? The shots themselves are quite nice, but look pasted onto the background, so maybe that needs a little work... Also i think the background colour is a bit over-powering, but that might be just a personal thing. ;)

Hmmm, first person to actually notice that. Yes they have had the backgroiund replaced, and I know there are one or two areas where it can be seen, but no one else has commented on that. Obviously my sister knows it is fake background, but she can't see the joins! :)

The colour is generally liked by all I have shared it with...like you say...a personal thing.

Thanks

Thing is she is wearing black. It's so hard to see detail and easily see that she's pregnant except in the side view photo of her. Composition could have been altered to help show this, i.e. don't have the people face directly at the camera.

Yes, I realised that. We have a lot of photos where she is not wearing black. You can see the red top in the last one. There IS detail in the black, however, so all is not lost. :)
And the family like to see the faces...:)

Thanks for your input. :)

I'm not talking about posing people to face away from the camera, just not having her body squared to the camera. Body and shoulders and face square to the camera is not often a pose that results in better portraits. You can have her body angled to the camera but her face turned a little to the camera. Maybe find a book a portraiture.

Ah yes...I'll find a book. Thanks.

That's the first thing I noticed.

Was it? Hmmm...didn't think it was that bad. I posted these on a few other forums I frequent and no one else has mentioned it at all...

Thanks for the input. :)
