I have a Canon Powershot SD1400is and it was working great until today. It takes pictures fine but when I go to view them it says unidentified image. It says the same thing if I try to take a video too. I imported the pictures onto my computer hoping that might help but the images cannot be viewed. I have no idea what is causing this and would really like to know because the camera is worthless if the pictures can't be viewed after I take them. I would GREATLY appreciate any help. Thanks!

They don't show up when you review them on the camera, I gather, or on the computer. Do you have a different memory card you can try?

That memory card may have images shot using a different camera.
Copy images to computer and then Formating might help

Yes.
Copy the images to your computer, then put the card back into the camera and format it in the camera.
