I was under the impression that the 5DII has an internal wireless flash triggering system, but I guess I was wrong? You need to buy an adapter?

The other day I dismounted my SpeedLite 430EX, put it in slave mode, and was under the impression there was a wireless flash menu setting I simply had to activate...

Do all cameras need an adapter? If not, which Canon and Nikon models have the wireless triggering system built in?

Thanks.

The built in wireless controller was introduced with the 7D. Since then they have added it to the 60D and the t3I. It certainly wont work on a 5DII as it requires the use of the popup flash which you dont have. You would need either the ST-E2 wireless flash controller, or a 500ex series flash capable of serving as a master (580exII, 580ex, or 550ex).

Cool. Thanks.

Since when has Nikon offered a similar system on its cameras?
