If you had an opportunity to do an even trade of Tamron 17-50 and Canon 85 for a Canon 24-105L, would you do it? I know what I will be losing/gaining. I just can't make up my mind! I could always buy an 85 later.

Now you have to ask yourself if you can take the hit in speed for focal length. The 24-105 is a great lens. 5DMarkII|24-105 F4L|70-200 2.8L IS II|580EXII|

If re-selling is not an option, then no I wouldn't. That's a heckuva lot of work to bank around $175-$200 (after fees, shipping).

The 24-105 is a great lens. That is the only thing I'm worried about, but, then again, in indoor situation I will have my 430EX and for outdoors, f4 should be good for most situations.

Prior to March, maybe. Not anymore. $900-$1000 here. Do your due diligence--I know I've been watching the prices.

You can always pickup the other two later when someone's selling them off cheap. L-lenses on the other hand, typically don't sell cheap.

I regretted selling it to another member even before I sent it off. I was thinking of buying another, but picking up a 24-70L on-the-cheap has scuttled that plan. I refuse to own multiple lenses that overlap, regardless of aperture.
