We usually shoot with Alien Bee's but now I'm looking into just sticking our Flashes on tripods. This way it would be just easier to move and be less noticeable.

But where online can I rent them from? Can I even rent them or do I have to buy them? What exactly would I need to buy or rent?

why tripods over light stands? Stands are cheaper, lighter, and more versatile.

Either or... To be honest, I have no idea of what I would need or what would be better. :(

Your better option would be light stands. You will need a stand and a swivel bracket for each. I dont know about rentals, that would depend on your local rental house.

Do you know of a good, dependable site that you can get some from?

If you already have stands for your bees, www.flashzebra.com (external link) sells a bracket you can use to mount the flash on your existing stands.

Awesome, thanks man. By any chance, do you have any more threads like that?

I'm trying to get better at how to situate the lights and where to point them for best results.

Some, but not about lighting. Read my FAQ thread, which links to most of the faq type things i've written here.
