Ok, so I'm in the local Tuthill's, looking at camera bodies. I pick up a 5D, and start playing with it. I throw on my 50 1.4, put in my 4 gig Ultra II CF, and start snapping. The guy is fine with it. I put my whole bag of gear up on the counter in case I dropped it. So I'm having fun, I've ripped off quite a few shots to look at later, and I leave the store. This morning, I'm ripping the house apart trying to find my memory card so I can go out shooting.

Here comes the retardation...

I remember...IT'S STILL IN THE 5D!!!! I call Tuthill's, and the guy I spoke with says "nope...don't see one."

AW crap!! that's awful.

It's somewhat better than forgetting the 5D in your bag and leaving the store, then finding the police at your house the next day =)

Too much gear...

I feel a Homer moment coming on .... Doh !

Maybe you should revisit the store and speak to the guy. If you are a frequent visitor to the store surely they know you. someone must remeber taking the card out of a 5D. :(

Someone right one is thinking about joining the forums because they just got a great deal on an ex-dem 5D, but are holding off because they now know the 4gig card it came with was not an extra freebe :(

So long and thanks for all the flash

Geeze! That's not even close to being funny. A 4g card is some serious cash... :(

Lordy. That'll give you a sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach.

It could be worse, though. One of our members has a habit of leaving tripods around, including one with a very expensive Wimberly Gimbal-type head on it. Now there's a really dummy for you.

Yep, that sucks big time. You and Belmondo should make a team - let us all know when your next meeting is...

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. That sounds like something I would do (just ask my wife how absent-minded I am).

Yeah, I went back up there today...yeah...no card. Nooooo one saw it. I think either the guy that showed it to me, took it, or someone looking at the 5D after me, took it. Either way, I got shafted. Looks like I'll be shelling out another $500 for another effing card. Oooooh bad mood coming on.
