Yup, that's the one. I would have liked to do the sunrise thing but the 5am wakeup call would have been a little too hard on the girl I'm going with

 I s'pose it's a wee-bit early. It'll be my first time at PoF so I figure I gotta at least try the Sunrise shoot once.

I'll be there both days and one of the guides on the sunrise photo event. Hope the overcast stays away.
Here's one from last year at 5:40 AM.

P-47 Thunderbolt drivers and British Spitfire jockeys argue this fact as do Navy Corsair pilots but, the P-51 Mustang was the very best piston engine fighter ever built!

Wish I could work Chino into my schedule this year. :(

This P-38 was from one of the two Sunrise Sessions last year at Chino...

I'll be there on Saturday. I'm thinking of buying a Sunrise pass, if any are left. At least that will allow me to beat the crowds, and parking will be less of a hassle (me thinks).

Any opinion on the best area for photographing the aerial events? Is the grandstand seating worth buying? This will be my first time at Chino.

When I ordered my tickets in the gift shop, I asked the person about the grandstands. She said that they would be in front of the tower and that there were something like 100 seats. This number makes it sound like the grandstands aren't going to be very big.

I'm also considering a sunrise pass.

Looking forward to the show.

Base of the Tower with 400/500mm's of reach and a little elevation over the bulk of the crowd would be terrific at Chino.

Yes, and the ticket page says limited grandstand seating.

When I attended Mirmar, the grandstands were large and crowed. And with people on all sides of you, it didn't look like a good position for photography. The exception being the very top row.

And if you leave the grandstand to take a leak, you might loose your seat
