Hopefully this is a easy one and apologies for the low res versions I've posted (still working on the image). Just wondered which crop works better in your opinion and why. I have my own thoughts but wanted to keep it unbiased. Thanks much and God bless!

these are both cropped from the original already, fyi.

Just like you are thinking, #2 works better in every way.

It gives you all the info you need w/o distraction.

vid and Shockey, thanks for looking and offering an opinion, it helps tremendously. Still a split decision now so I'm anxious to hear what the verdict is as others weigh in. Shockey, you mind sharing why you think #1 is better?

What the intended use of the image? Marketing? Your own wall? For Client? It matters.

Great point and it does matter. Truth be told, I don't know the final use. The agency may use it for any number of purposes from web display to posters (small) at info meetings. For sure it will be in a photo book I am doing on Ethiopia.

#1 for sure!. #2 attracts me to her teeth for some reason and shows that random hand on her shoulder. #1 shows the whole picture, a fun picture... weather is her brother, cousin or friend. looks like a good childhood time. idk, my 2 cents. good shot nontheless.

Definitely number 1 for me, but I can't articulate the "why". If you release that one to whomever gets it, they can always crop it differently to suit their needs...
